Ireland Experience Days

Hi guys, i want to share with you, my Ireland experience. My time in Ireland has changed me immensly. As of today, I have been living there for seven months, all in an effort to improve my English. I have also planned to travel of European countries, such as, England, Germany and Belgium. But before I get into all that, here are some general things to consider:

The island consists of two countries, the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, which includes the United Kingdom. The capital of Northern Ireland is Belfast and the capital of Ireland itself, is Dublin.

The people I have met in my time there were both friendly and polite. I have stayed at places such as host-family, hostels, and lived under shared housing and apartments. In my opinion, I was more comfortable at the hostel, rather than the other places. It was a better way to practice my English with others. It was there, that I encountered an eccentric group of individuals. Every night, we would partake in gatherings where we would play music and forget everything but our instruments.

To be quite frank, house prices and transportation are a little expensive there. Transportation alone was about €120 per month. Regardless, I got a bike for about €60 and rode it to and fro for 4 months. I couldn’t complain, because it was quite liberating when I would travel around the city centre on my bicycle and just enjoy the simple pleasures of life. However I can not deny that when I returned home to my own country, I sold that bike right away.

If your goal is the same as mine, you can find opportunity in the myriad of libraries, free lectures, meet-ups, etc… that the island has to offer. For instance, I partook in a lot of conferences about my branch in the Trinity College…

Culture is crucial to any nation. Every year the people there celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day with a bolstering huzzah and festive celebration! The largest gathering in size that I have ever laid eyes upon!

I created this helpful entry in order to perhaps persuade one to consider travelling. I have benefitted from this journey and took away more lessons about life than I can count.
